Typically we ask that the homeowner move any small valuables off of shelves and tables before our arrival. If discussed at the time of the estimate, we are typically able to move bigger items such as couches, dressers, beds, etc. If you do plan to move the furniture yourself, we ask that you move everything to the center of the room, or at least far enough from the wall for a step-ladder to fit between.
